|Issue 2131||I would like the ability to switch audio and the camera during a WebRTC call.|
|Starred by 30 users||Reported by fredclar...@gmail.com, Jul 24 2013||Back to list|
What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. I have to refresh the browser in order to turn off a camera or to switch audio or camera. It would be much better if I could switch within a call. 2. 3. What is the expected result? What do you see instead? What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Using the Chrome 28. Please provide any additional information below.

Hi Niklas, There are more and more concerns on switching devices on the fly. Do we have any plan on this? I didn't find any issues on this topic. Should we follow such request with this one?

No plans to support this right now - we are currently focused on adding the device enumeration and manual selection capability described in bug 1571 .

This will be solved by RtpSender.replaceTrack. http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-webrtc/2014Sep/0004.html

This looks like it's not hitting m42. Update it if I'm wrong.

Sample page that works with the current beta version of Chrome (49.0.2623.23): https://webrtc.github.io/samples/src/content/devices/input-output/

This is still open to handle changing tracks for a PC mid-call - waiting on RTPSender.replaceTrack.
