|Issue 333||Avoid copying extension source code when installing extensions|
|Starred by 4 users||Project Member Reported by firstname.lastname@example.org, May 1 2009||Back to list|
Each time we install an extension, we copy the source code for it from the C++ v8::RegisteredExtension object into the V8 heap using Factory::NewStringFromAscii. However, we usually hit the extensions_cache and get a Handle<JSFunction> so we don't need the source code at all in the common case. See Genesis::InstallExtension in bootstrapper.cc.

We no longer do this, since we use external string instead.
