Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 11316.82.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/72.0.3626.59 Safari/537.36 Platform: 11316.82.0 (Official Build) beta-channel nami Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Since the latest beta when I put in an external storage (micro SD) I will get eject warnings and then the drive will be remounted. 2. I also have some new folders being created related to android ... see attachments 3. This is on an Acer Spin 13. When this happens my fans will engage to cool down the processor or motherboard. What is the expected behavior? No storage ejections. No high speed fan engagement when sitting idle. What went wrong? Storage is ejecting without user interactions. Once this happens the system will spin up the fans to cool down the system. This happens when I am actively using the system and when it is sitting idle. Did this work before? Yes The stock version of Chrome that came with the Acer Spin 13 Chrome version: 72.0.3626.59 Channel: beta OS Version: 11316.82.0 Flash Version: 32.0.0.114 If there are other logs that I should upload then let me know.

https://listnr.corp.google.com/report/85925808455 It looks like the USB connection is corrupted and so the kernel is resetting the device after seeing too many errors. It could be one of many things. If you have another card, can you try that in the device? Or try to use the same SD card in a different device. Could it be caused by a "bad" external card reader? I just realized that is mostly happening at work where I have a different USB 4-port and a different external USB card reader.

Yes, it could. Any part of the hardware chain from the Chromebook to the SD card could be causing the problem. It could also be a software bug. At this point, I can't tell.

I have eliminated the USB 4-port and external USB card reader. I don't get any errors with those with my two test MicroSD cards. I think it is more than likely the internal reader but I'll try some more testing soon (which would be a real bummer if it is the internal MicroSD card port). |
