Updates on Chrome OS Systems Supporting Android Apps on "Planned" Status

Project Member Reported by diegodomenico@google.com, Yesterday (30 hours ago)

Issue description

Description:
Request to have an ETA on when will Android Applications support the following devices listed on this link (https://sites.google.com/a/chromium.org/dev/chromium-os/chrome-os-systems-supporting-android-apps).

Use case:
Based on case number 18066289, customer would like to force install Android Applications for Chromebook Model Dell Chromebook 11 (3120). The Chromebook model is currently on "Planned" status and wants to know when will those planned status be available on stable channel.

Motivation:
This feature would benefit not just the specified model mentioned above, but all other models that are currently listed should receive updates that would support Android Applications to run on the system, since other users/admins enforce the installation of Android Applications as well for Educational Purposes. This would also inform our end users to consider the specific model that they will use if they want to push Android Applications for their Chromebooks, in order to avoid confusion on which model to get for their institution.

Existing workarounds:
Checking for further updates on "Chrome OS Systems Supporting Android Apps" https://sites.google.com/a/chromium.org/dev/chromium-os/chrome-os-systems-supporting-android-apps though this link won't give them ETA and would only show "planned status".
