Written text in omnibox disappears when a long URL is autocompleted

Reported by linadid...@gmail.com, Jan 19 (3 days ago)

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/72.0.3626.64 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. type "acc" in the omnibox

What is the expected behavior?
The text that I have written ("acc") should still be visible.

What went wrong?
The omnibox only shows "ounts.google.com/signin/..."
This is probably because the URL is very long.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 72.0.3626.64 Channel: beta
OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2)

Steps to reproduce:

First visit a website with a long url, like for example
https://chart.apis.google.com/chart?chs=500x500&chma=0,0,100,100&cht=p&chco=FF0000%2CFFFF00%7CFF8000%2C00FF00%7C00FF00%2C0000FF&chd=t%3A122%2C42%2C17%2C10%2C8%2C7%2C7%2C7%2C7%2C6%2C6%2C6%2C6%2C5%2C5&chl=122%7C42%7C17%7C10%7C8%7C7%7C7%7C7%7C7%7C6%7C6%7C6%7C6%7C5%7C5&chdl=android%7Cjava%7Cstack-trace%7Cbroadcastreceiver%7Candroid-ndk%7Cuser-agent%7Candroid-webview%7Cwebview%7Cbackground%7Cmultithreading%7Candroid-source%7Csms%7Cadb%7Csollections%7Cactivity|Chart

Then clear the omnibox and type the first couple letters of the url in the omnibox. You will notice that the first characters dissapear.

vincent.langstrom@ Thanks for the issue.

Able to reproduce this issue on Windows 10, Ubuntu 17.10 on the latest Stable 71.0.3578.98 and latest Canary 73.0.3680.0.

This is a Non-Regression issue as this behavior is observed from M-60 chrome builds.
Hence marking this as Untriaged for further updates from Dev.

Thanks..
