lakitu-release unitTest failing on sys-apps/spiny

Sometime between 6:30pm on Friday (Jan. 11) and 2:25am on Saturday (Jan. 12) the lakitu release builders have started failing in the UnitTest stage, failing while building sys-apps/spiny.

This is a regression and needs to be resolved asap.
