||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 73.0.3669.0 Chrome OS Version: 11582.0.0 Chrome OS Platform: Eve, Sona Network info: wifi Please specify Cr-* of the system to which this bug/feature applies (add the label below). Steps To Reproduce: (1) On a x86_64 machine, complete Linux VM installation (2) Insert an USB drive to the system. Open the Files app, copy a directory that has some packages (say leafpad, gedit...) from the USB drive to Downloads files system (3) From Downloads system, go into the folder, and double click on a package, say leafpad, do not proceed to install yet. Just to verify at this point, the Package info is populate to the UI. Close Cancel (4) Right click on the Downloads node, and choose to Share with Linux (5) Repeat step 3 (6) Now proceed to install the package Expected Result: a) I expect after Share with Linux, package info should still be populated to UI b) Installation of package should complete without error Actual Result: a) After share with Linux, double click on the debian packange, and UI fail to retrieve package info b) Proceed package installation despite above issue and package installation would fail How frequently does this problem reproduce? Always on x86_64 Note 1: I cannot repro this problem on arm64 device (kevin) Note 2: I cannot repro this problem if launch installation package from USB when it shares with Linux Note 3: After both the USB and Downloads files system are share with Linux, I ran md5sum on both files. The checksum matches. So this shouldn't be copy error What is the impact to the user, and is there a workaround? The workaround is to un-share Downloads with Linux and then re-try and I don't see this error Feedback link: https://listnr.corp.google.com/report/85908402861
