HP Chromebook 15 battery not found, no battery icon, only works when plugged in to proper adapter. High pitched noise when plugged in. No desktop screen.

Reported by slyrem...@gmail.com, Jan 11

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 11151.59.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/71.0.3578.94 Safari/537.36
Platform: 11151.59.0

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. crosh battery_test
2. hard reset
3. power washed

What is the expected behavior?
It is expected for my Chromebook to be able to be removed from the adapter and still work, as well as not give a high pitched noise when plugged in.

What went wrong?
I did not drop my computer, I actually keep quite good care of it. I came home from college earlier and found that my computer wouldn't turn on. I proceeded to plug it in, notice there was no battery icon, choose to ignore it for now, then do some work. I then closed my computer and eventually opened it again(not plugged in) and it wouldn't turn on. This time, after I plugged it in, a high pitched noise started to come from near the speakers. I have unplugged it, reset is at least 5x, power washed it 1x, and am not quite sure what to do next. The desktop screen also isn't showing, it's just green whenever I minimize my tabs.

Did this work before? Yes This version, it worked earlier today and suddenly stopped.

Sounds like there's some permanent battery failure from your debug but please file feedback (alt+shift+i) and mention this bug, crbug.com/920909, so we can diagnose further.
