Crostini: Able to access more PlayFiles directories from Linux terminal than from Files app UI

Project Member Reported by sienkou@chromium.org, Jan 10

Issue description

Chrome Version: 73.0.3667.0
Chrome OS Version: 11558.0.0
Chrome OS Platform: Kevin, Eve
Network info: wifi

Please specify Cr-* of the system to which this bug/feature applies (add
the label below).

Steps To Reproduce:

(1) After Linux VM installation completes, open Files app, right click on Play files node and choose Share with Linux

(2) Open the Linux terminal, cd /mnt/chromeos/PlayFiles, and run ls -lai. Compare the result to what's exposed in the Files app UI
(3)

Expected Result:
Number of directory available should match between Linux terminal vs Files app UI

Actual Result:
 a) I'm seeing more directories available in Linux terminal vs. Files app UI

 b) I then cd to a directory not exposes in Files app, say Alarms, I can create and save a script there

How frequently does this problem reproduce? Always

The FilesApp UI by design does not show all folders in Play files. In FilesApp, click on gear menu (3 dots on top-right), then select 'Show all Play folders'.
