I also encountered this problem on Android TV 7.1. It cannot start play after I pressed play button.

As per c#0 this requires Android TV to test this issue further, hence requesting MTV team to help in further triaging of the issue. Thanks!

eason77.chen@, is that possible for you to update the WebView on your device to newer version such as M71? There is a little value for us to debug with a very old version since it is possible that the bug has been fixed already on newer version. Looking at issue 920118, I doubt that it is the same to this issue since issue 920118 is on version M71. Satya, is there any Android TV device we have so we could test it out, thanks!

ctzsm@,thanks for your information.I tried the later 66.0.3359.158 from https://android.googlesource.com/a/platform/external/chromium-webview/+/android-8.1.0_r60 and found same cannot playback issue. I cannot use latest one as the package name is not com.android.webview. I am trying to download the source code to change the package name to build the apk,it will need much time due to network limit here. Could you share where I can get latest webview.apk with package name com.android.webview,I will try again. Thanks.

We don't provide prebuilt APKs other than the ones available in Android and the Google-branded builds on the Play Store, and our APKs would not be signed with the correct keys for your device anyway. You'll have to build it yourself if you're making your own Android system images.

eason77.chen@, the package name for webview is "com.google.android.webview" And if you logged into your account on AndroidTV, you should be able update the webview to latest M71 versions. And here is Google play store link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.webview Here in US, we are not able to load any video on the Destop/Ubantu/Chrome browser and Android TV browser - Getting message "This Video is not available in your area due to copyright restrications" Please try and let us know, does the latest webview version fix the issues? 1. What native browser your are using? 2. liebao browser is not available here, can you attach the apk?

dneelamegam@,Thanks for your help and information,I am using the webview.apk here https://android.googlesource.com/a/platform/external/chromium-webview/+/android-o-mr1-iot-release-1.0.8/prebuilt/arm64/ and the package is com.android.webview,it cannot be updated by network. I can download the same package apk and build the image again to update the apk. For your question: 1.The browser is from https://android.googlesource.com/platform/packages/apps/Browser/+/master 2.It seems that I cannot attach the file,I press the "Attach a file" and no response. The liebao browser can be downloaded from http://shouji.baidu.com/soft/item?docid=25431869&from=web_alad_2_2 If need some log with debug command enabled,I can do it here.

"Browser" in AOSP has been deprecated and unmaintained for many releases and shouldn't even be checked out as part of AOSP any more (it was removed from the manifest). If you're working on an AOSP platform that doesn't have the Google apps preinstalled and you aren't able to update WebView by building a new version yourself then it's unlikely we can do a great deal to help you here - it's very hard for us to reproduce issues when you're using an ancient deprecated browser, an outdated webview version, a platform we don't have the hardware or system image for, and test websites that are georestricted so that we can't access them. However, if you're building AOSP yourself then nothing is stopping you from using our Google-branded WebView APKs to test whether this issue is fixed on a newer version: you can configure your AOSP image to use any package name for WebView that you like, it's just specified in the framework resource "config_webview_packages.xml" You should still be able to build your own WebView from Chromium to distribute, though - you can't rely on the prebuilt in AOSP, it's not regularly updated.
