Thanks for filing the issue... Tried to reproduce the issue on reported chrome version 71.0.3578.98 using Windows 10. Attaching screen-cast for reference. Steps: ------ 1. Launched reported chrome 2. I believe I am having the same issue on both my Windows and Mac computers: 1) Trying to drag a bookmark by clicking the symbol next to the web address in the location bar - usually the lock symbol... 2) to a folder on the bookmarks bar that is long enough to extend to the top of the screen... 3) and into a specific location in that folder or a subfolder within that folder... 4) causes the dropdown for that folder to disappear as I move the cursor to the desired location (typically selecting another folder on the bookmarks bar behind the dropdown). 5) Unless I am VERY fast. It usually takes me three tries. While writing this, I discovered a workaround: If I move the cursor below the bookmarks bar before moving left or right I can more consistently get onto the folder I've selected before it disappears. Solution Suggestions: A) Bookmark folders that contain enough items to necessitate extending onto and above the bookmarks bar stay open longer to allow one to easily move a bookmark onto them. OR B) All bookmark folder dropdowns extend below the folder on the bookmark bar regardless of length (use existing scroll functionality for long ones, but don't extend above the bottom of the bookmark bar). On my screen, extending above the bookmark bar with the dropdown only adds space for four more visible bookmarks/folders (three plus the space of one for the scroll arrow) although I know that probably differs based on UI configuration. Thank you for reading this! |
