Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/70.0.3538.67 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Set up two machines with syncing data, including apps. 2. Add a web app that offers a share target on one of the machines (A). 3. Allow the other machine (B) to receive the synced app. What is the expected behavior? The added PWA from machine A appears on machine B as installed and with a viable share target for navigator.share. What went wrong? Machine B received the web app from machine A's sync, but it did not appear as a share target. The app had to be removed and re-added before it appeared as a share target. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 70.0.3538.67 Channel: stable OS Version: Fedora Flash Version: Demo of share target: https://web-share.glitch.me/ I also tried it with an instance of Mastodon and had the same issue.

Rerouting to pkotwicz@ to clarify what the desired behavior is, thanks.

I don't understand the "What went wrong?" part - we don't sync web apps between devices on android

To clarify, this issue is present in the desktop version of Chrome. I specifically am using two Fedora Linux machines when reproducing the issue. I think the WebAPK tag is incorrect here.

+eric - web share targets don't appear to sync right now. However, we're in the middle of replacing our PWA container format on desktop. +loyso is working on that project, FYI we'll need to ensure web share targets sync properly through.

Also note that we haven't formally shipped web share target on non-mobile OSs yet, so this is a feature request for the future for now. |
