If a chromebook has an internal Ethernet port, but it is disabled or not working and we instead plug in (e.g.) a USB Ethernet device, it would be nice to use the MAC address from the Ethernet port with the USB Ethernet device.

That way it might still work on corp networks where MAC addresses are controlled.
