Apparently, none of the Save As dialogs in Chrome ever showed the standard "File in use" warning (it's usually displayed by apps in Windows at least). The closest Chrome came to an indication of a problem is the ambiguous and misleading "canceled" status when saving pages or downloading into a file that's currently in use.

Here's that standard warning that Chrome doesn't show.

If anyone's gonna implement this, in Windows this is apparently handled by IFileIsInUse interface: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/api/shobjidl_core/nn-shobjidl_core-ifileisinuse

mooseman.web@ Thanks for the issue. Able to reproduce this issue on Windows 10 and Mac OS 10.13.6 on the latest Stable 71.0.3578.98 and latest Canary 73.0.3658.0. Unable to reproduce the issue on Ubuntu 14.04 This is a Non-Regression issue as this behavior is observed from M-60 chrome builds. Hence marking this as Untriaged for further updates from Dev. Thanks.. |
