view-source hotkey command+u does not work on mac

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/71.0.3578.98 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. goto https://www.example.com/
2. press command+u

What is the expected behavior?
should open new tab showing html-source for https://www.example.com/

What went wrong?
nothing happens

Did this work before? Yes 

Chrome version: 71.0.3578.98  Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.12.6

Able to reproduce the issue on reported chrome version #71.0.3578.98 and latest chrome #73.0.3656.0 using Mac OS 10.12.6 by following steps as per comment#0.
Note: Issue is specific to MacOS.

The behaviour is observed from M-60 builds(#60.0.3112.113). This is a non-regression issue, hence marking it as untriaged and requesting someone from the dev team to look into the issue.

The keyboard shortcut is Cmd+Option+U.
