need basic commands for Crostini: man, file, wget |
|||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 71.0.3578.85 (Official Build) beta (64-bit) Expected result: basic commands like 'man','file','wget' should be present on Crostini Rationale: as a developer these commands are part of basic Linux installations. Possible Solutions: 1. install man, file, wget as part of the basic installation 2. officially support Chromebrew (similar to brew for macOS): https://skycocker.github.io/chromebrew

Ahh - if download size is an issue another alternative is to create an easy way to install a bundle of "advanced" commands post-installation.

IMO these utilities are essential enough that installing them by default makes sense.

Verified on the latest container image. Note that this won't take effect for new containers on 73 until https://crrev.com/95d1f03df9bbcdf0b16c39cee3de5095362e3f4a makes it into a Chrome uprev. |
