You are doing things right. Some tests. Test case 1: Working windows profile. Working chrome 71. I've disabled all other extensions. Result - getting OnErrorOccured event. Test case 2: The same windows profile. The same browser, but in incognito mode with enabled test_extension. Result - no errors events, got onCompleted with code 200. Test case 3: The same windows profile. New clean chrome beta v72 with installed test_extension. Result - no errors events, got onCompleted with code 200. Test case 4: New windows profile. New clean stable chrome browser v71. Result - no errors events, got onCompleted with code 200. I not exactly undestand what could be cause of error event. I'm not the only user who faced with the problem. Some other user experinces the same problem. what can cause event like this? as i mentioned, all extensions except test_extesion are disabled. error: "net::ERR_ABORTED" frameId: 0 fromCache: false method: "GET" parentFrameId: -1 requestId: "521" tabId: 22 timeStamp: 1545839219030.478 type: "main_frame"

Were you running with the Network Service enabled? Try disabling it using chrome://flags/#network-service and see if the problem still reproduces.
