This should not be the case; something may have gone really wrong here. Let us at least try to repro.

Just a quick update: I got them pairing with other devices again. Still a surprising result, but not as severe as bricking. Though I wonder if non-technical users would have such a great time.

I did another device reset and wiped out configurations on all my previously paired devices too, and I was finally able to pair again.
