Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/71.0.3578.98 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: Environment: On an Android tablet (Samsung SM-T800, running Android 6.0.1) and Chrome app. Start TalkBack (Settings --> Accessibility) and navigate to https://jsfiddle.net/ne5djwdt/34/ Code snippet: <label for="date1">Date label</label> <input id="date1" type="date" value="2018-03-16"> <input id="date2" type="date" value="2018-03-17"> 1. Tap on the "Date label" text. Talkback says, "Date label. Double-tap to activate." 2. Swipe right. TalkBack says, "Date label datepicker. Double-tap to change." What is the expected behavior? TalkBack to say date i.e. "March 16th 2018." What went wrong? When a label element is applied to an input element of type "date", TalkBack does not read the value of the input. Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 71.0.3578.98 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: Transfered from issuetracker: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/75004853

Hi,
In the video posted, the _second_ date field (2018-03-17) is correctly reading out its value ("17th of March 2018 datepicker, double tap to change"). However, the problem is with the _first_ date field (2018-03-16), which will read as "Date label date label date picker, double tap to change".
Chrome version:
71.0.3578.99
OS:
Android 9.0
Android device:
Pixel 2

Confirmed that this is still prevalent in Android 8.0.0, Chrome version 71.0.3578.99 The second date label still reads its value correctly, but the first date label only reads "Date label, date label, date picker" as described above. I also tried to reproduce this issue in other browsers. In Samsung Internet, nothing at the provided URL reads with TalkBack at all. In Firefox, both date labels read as three separate elements that can be selected independently and announce "Month, spin button, double tap to activate", "slash", "Year, spin button, double tap to activate", "slash", "Day, spin button, double tap to activate". as you swipe right through them. Also, in Firefox, the sample code creates spin buttons for each component of the date (month, day, year). In Chrome, the entire date is a single button that, when activated, opens a calendar-style date picker.
