Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_14_0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/71.0.3578.98 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open a webpage with text that has font-size set to a VW based value (eg 10vw) on a mobile device 2. Using the same device, open the same page in an Android WebView (eg via Instagram profile link or using a WebView testing app) 3. Text in WebView is larger than in mobile browser What is the expected behavior? Computed text size should be the same What went wrong? Font size in the WebView is too big (this is reflected when using window.getComputedStyle() to test). Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 71.0.3578.98 Channel: stable OS Version: OS X 10.14.0 Flash Version: Note: Screenshot called via-webview.png is taken in the WebView tester Android app. The app is open source app so you can see how the WebView is initialised: https://github.com/lsrom/webview-tester

@jonny: Could you please let us know how to open this link in webview tester app. Downloaded attached .html file and opened in chrome -- observed same text size. If possible please provide screencast of the issue. This would help in further triaging of the issue. Thanks!

Hi +chelamcherla@chromium.org It is reproducible :( On my phone - including after a restart - but also other devices. To make it easy to test on other peoples device I added the test link to my Instagram profile and then got some colleagues of mine to browse to my profile and open the link (which opens in a WebView in Instagram). 1 of 3 colleagues reproduced the issues. User B was able to downloaded the WebView Tester app. See screenshots and summary below. Each user did the following to try to reproduce the issue: 1. Opened Instagram on an Android device 2. Browsed to the @jonnyscholes user 3. Clicked the link in the bio on that user which would then open in an embedded WebView. Results: User A Issue reproduced: No Phone: Google Pixel 1 (not XL) Primary installed browser: Chrome User B Issue reproduced: Yes (via Instagram and via WebView Tester app) Phone: Google Pixel 2 (not XL) Primary installed browser: Chrome User C Issue reproduced: No Phone: Samsung Galaxy 9 Primary installed browser: Chrome Is there anything else I can provide or do to help? I'll leave that link in my bio for a while so you can test the same way the users above did.
