Issue descriptionChrome Version : Version 71.0.3578.98 (Official Build) (64-bit) Windows URLs (if applicable) : https://streamable.com/sqeeu What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Select tab (2) Click "Bookmark this page" in location bar (3) Select another tab (4) Repeat 1-3 several times What is the expected result? First tab is on the place. What happens instead? After several switchings, first tab spontaneously jumps out, see attached video. Spontaneous message (WM_MOUSEMOVE with negative coordinates) is generated while closing "Bookmark edit" bubble. This event sometimes considered as drag & drop of first tab, so the tab jumps out.

Wow, that's a trippy video. Adding the bookmarks component, as that UI seems to be what's causing this issue. Also CCing a bookmarks OWNER.

I don't think this is bookmark related. Rather I suspect a spurious mouse drag is occurring that results in detaching the tab. aura::WindowEventDispatcher may generate events under certain circumstances, it's possible that is contributing.

I wonder if this could be a Windows analog to bug 897274.

Definitely it's not related with bookamarks, because the same issue you could reproduce with page info bubble. The most probably it is connected with windows Aura. As a workaround this could be fixed by setting "force_software_compositing" flag in bubble's widget. I could provide such a patch.

Tried to reproduce the issue on reported chrome version 71.0.3578.98 using Windows 10. Attaching screen-cast for reference. Steps: ------ 1. Launched reported chrome 2. Opened three tabs and clicked on "Bookmark this page" in location bar 3. Selected another tab and repeated several times As we have observed that the First tab is on the place. @Reporter: Could you please check the attached screen-cast and let us know if we missed anything for our end. Thanks.!

Steps are correct. Maybe it would be necessary to make more clicks between tabs. Yes, it could be annoying :) Anyway, I tried to reproduce it on my desktop and laptop. On laptop it was much harder to reproduce, on desktop the problem appeared after several clicks almost immideately. Also please check gpu configuration "chrome://gpu". I think it is related with hardware acceleration of UI widgets. So check "Desktop compositing Aero Glass", "Direct Composition true", "Compositing: Hardware accelerated" My GPU config is attached. |
