Issue descriptionChrome Version : Version 71.0.3578.98 (Official Build) (64-bit) URLs (if applicable) : https://codepen.io/anon/pen/roxqWx Other browsers tested: Firefox + NVDA: OK Edge + Narrator: OK What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Open https://codepen.io/anon/pen/roxqWx (2) Open NVDA (3) Click Start button in the code pen repro What is the expected result? NVDA should not read the counter value since aria-live property for that is "off" irrespective of any parent div's aria-live property What happens instead? NVDA keeps reading the counter value causing a lot of noise. If the wrapping div's aria-live="polite" is removed, the issue is no longer happening.

Thanks for filing the issue... Able to reproduce the issue on reported chrome version 71.0.3578.98 also on latest chrome 73.0.3644.0 using Windows 10. Same behavior is seen on M60(60.0.3112.113) hence considering it as non-regression and marking it as Untriaged. Note: Issue not seen on Mac Thanks.! |
