Issue descriptionChromium Version : 71.0.3578.80 (Official Build) snap (64-bit) Most recent version? : Yes, probably OS + version : Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS Bionic Beaver CPU architecture : 64-bit Window manager : Gnome 3.28.2 URL : http://fivedots.coe.psu.ac.th/~ad/jlop/#writer, "Chapter" link (Any page with a link to a downloadable file.) Similar to these bugs: 839362 Behaviour, Linux Firefox Quantum 63.0.3 : Works as expected (see below) Behaviour, Windows 10 Home 1803, Chrome 70.0.3538.110 (Chromium not installed) : Works as expected (see below) What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) In Chromium, open any page with a link to a downloadable file. (2) Right-click the link (e.g. "Chapter" above) and click on <Save Link As ...>. What is the expected result? (3) Chromium opens a <Save As> file browser. What happens instead? (3) Chromium immediately crashes without warning. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot and backtrace if possible. Backtrace not possible; deb package chromium-browser-dbg not available for Chromium 70.* When launched from the Console as described ... chromium-browser --debug 2>&1 | tee -a ~/Desktop/Chromium-bug.text ... Chromium does NOT crash on <Save Link As ...>. Go figure.

Thanks for filing the issue! Unable to reproduce the issue on reported chromium version 71.0.3578.0 using ubuntu 14.04 with the below mentioned steps. 1. Launched Chromium 2. Navigated to a sample web page 3. Right clicked on a web link 4. Clicked on "Save link as..." We were able to see the dialogue to save the link & we could save it without any issues/crashes. @Reporter: Could you please check the same in a new profile without any apps & extensions and let us know if the issue still persists. It would be highly helpful if provided crash ID from chrome://crashes.
