[VR Browser] First page visited after first run flow is black screen. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 73.0.3636.0 VRCore: 1.19.219215888 OS: repro'd on both P and O Device: Pixel 2 XL While checking out earlier versions of Chrome, I noticed that on 72.0.3626.12 and 71.0.3578.83 (latest versions) there is something related. But instead of the page staying black like it does in 73, there's just a flash of black. And it happens under the same circumstances as this issue - Only on the first site and after the first run flow. But the behavior on M73 is much more noticeable, and user affecting since the page remains black. What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Clear Chrome storage (2) Open Chrome 73.0.3636.0 and place in headset to start VR Browsing. (3) Follow first run flow to sign in to Chrome. (4) From the new tab page, go to any site, e.g. nytimes.com What is the expected result? Page loads properly. What happens instead? black background is displayed where the page should be and the page never loads. And refreshing the page or pressing back then forward doesn't resolve it. But pressing back, then selecting an Omnibox text input suggestion (by typing in nyt...) to navigate to the same page, resolves the issue. Then it doesn't ever happen again. Unless Chrome is uninstalled/reinstalled / storage cleared. It will happen (a black page) every time on first use (right after the first run flow), on any site. Additionally, any other page, visited after the the first one will be displayed properly.

This seems to happen consistently during tests, as well, but only on Vega. The first 1-2 tests that run after a new APK is installed fail due to the page load hanging indefinitely. |
