unclosed path stroke results in gradient

Reported by edgar.se...@gmail.com, Dec 10

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/70.0.3538.110 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
see rendering of attached the attached file

What is the expected behavior?
The code is supposed to render a set of connected lines (a path)

What went wrong?
The code produces a weird gradient (see attached screenshot).
Interestingly, the following workarounds produce a correct result:
1. Set lineWidth to 1 instead of 2
2. Close the path before the stroke

Did this work before? No

Does this work in other browsers? Yes
