Brightness slider not working on Chromeboxes |

Issue descriptionChrome OS 11316.9.0, 72.0.3626.9 Monroe Please specify Cr-* of the system to which this bug/feature applies (add the label below). Steps To Reproduce: (1)Move screen brightness slider from status area. (2) (3) Expected Result: Actual Result: No response with brightness slider move. How frequently does this problem reproduce? (Always, sometimes, hard to reproduce?) Reprod only on Chromebox What is the impact to the user, and is there a workaround? If so, what is it? Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screen shot or log if possible. For graphics-related bugs, please copy/paste the contents of the about:gpu page at the end of this report.

Sébastien, what do you think? Should we show a brightness slider on machines that aren't laptops? My hunch is that for those one should rely on brightness settings of the monitor itself, and thus just hide this slider. I'm not sure whether, e.g., Windows or Mac OS, offer brightness adjustment options on non-laptops. Please reassign to me afterwards. Thanks!

We should enable the brightness slider on all devices where brightness can be controlled via that slider. If the slider does nothing on Chromebox because the brightness is only controllable via the built-in display UI, then we should definitely take it out. Hope that makes sense and that it is something we can be aware of as a system.
