Description:
At present there is a Group Policy "Disable synchronization of data with Google" that either Enable or Disable Chrome Sync but there are no options available to select specific choices like Bookmark to be enabled and Disable the rest for Sync.
Use case:
This would help Administrators to have more control in terms of what they want to sync of their user's information from the cloud, such as allowing items like Bookmark to be available for Chrome Sync for Users and disable rest items (like Password, Auto-fill, Extensions, etc.) from being Synchronized.
Motivation:
At present there is a Group Policy "Disable synchronization of data with Google" that either Enable or Disable Chrome Sync but there are no options available to select specific options like Bookmark to be enabled and Disable the rest for Sync. This feature will be helpful on their end because it would allow them to control certain information that is much more important that the others from Chrome Sync's list of information that's being synced. There are information that aren't needed by some organizations, based on their workflows or security requirements.
For example, the admin only enabled Bookmarks to Chrome Sync and a user has saved a work-related account password on his work PC. When he accesses his account on a personal PC, only the bookmarks will be saved, leaving no work-related password synced, as it is only kept and saved locally on his/her work PC.
Existing workarounds:
Toggle on and off the "Disable synchronization of data with Google" GPO policy.
