OS: Repro'd on Chrome and Linux

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Navigate to Settings
(2) Search for a term in a subpage, e.g 'cert'
(3) Open the subpage (e.g. 'Manage certificates')
(4) Click the 'x' to clear the search and remove distracting hilights

What is the expected result?
Subpage should remain open

What happens instead?
Subpage closes

This happens after opening any subpage after a search, not just certificates.

I'm making this a P2 instead of a P3 because it feels confusing to me having the search term left highlighted, I associate that with having on matching sections of the page filtered out, even though that's not the case in on a subpage, only on the main page.
