Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 8.1.0; Moto G (5)) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/70.0.3538.110 Mobile Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Factory reset the PC (Windows 10, from 2018) 2. Install all Windows update. This includes 1803 and KB4467702. 3. Try to install Chrome from the official site. 4. Save the downloader. 5. Start it. 6. See the downloader finish the download and then fail. What is the expected behavior? Successful installation of Chrome. What went wrong? The error is "Installation failed with an unspecified error. If Google Chrome is currently running, please close it and try again." Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: Channel: stable OS Version: Flash Version: See here: https://superuser.com/questions/1378611/cant-install-chrome-on-windows-10-1803 I can't be totally sure this PC is ok, but I tried to install Firefox and VSCODE. That worked. And they seem to work.

Hi. Could you take a look for %TEMP%\chrome_installer.log or C:\Windows\Temp\chrome_installer.log? One of these may have some clues as to why installation failed. If you find either (or both!), please attach them to this issue and I'll take a look to see what I can find. Thanks. Out of curiosity, does this computer have any anti-virus software on it?

@grt@chromium.org Some questions to answer here. There is no log file. (But I don't know if that is because the installation now has succeeded. More about that in next comment.) This is Lenovo PC and it comes with MacAfee preinstalled (even when factory reset...).

However today, after a new update, the installation of Chrome was successful. I used the ChromeSetup.exe that I downloaded yesterday. (Which yesterday failed after downloading "Chrome".) Some details for your records, update history (in time order): - factory reset - Windows 10 version 1803 (KB4023057) - Sec update for Adobe Flash Player (KB4477029) - Cumulative update for Windows 10 version 1803 (KB4467702) In this state I reported the problem. - Cumulative update for Windows 10 version 1803 (KB4467682) In this state, right now, the installation of Chrome ess successful.
