VK Feature: Holding Shift or ?123 doesn't work

On Android, you can hold Shift or ?123 to type an upper case letter or a symbol.
On Meowth, you have to press and release that Shift or ?123 key

I can hold on a shift key and a letter at the same time to type a capital letter. I did it on the Meowth.

Havent been able to do that holding the ?123

Also cannot get all caps to work by holding the Shift key.
