Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/70.0.3538.102 Safari/537.36 Example URL: Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open attached PDF file 2. All Chinese text is missing What is the expected behavior? Chinese text should be visible. What went wrong? Font probably isn't embedded in the PDF. Still, a fallback font should be used. Other viewers/browsers do this (Edge, Firefox). Also, pdf.js running inside Chrome is able to render the text (so some fallback font with the needed characters is available to Chrome). Try the attachment here: https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/web/viewer.html Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 70.0.3538.102 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: Issue is probably with pdfium upstream, but I don't know the correct version, or how to reproduce with just pdfium, so I decided to report here, where it can easily be reproduced. It affects Android similarly where pdfium is used (Google Drive PDF viewer, Google PDF viewer, the Android PdfRenderer, Android printing framework, etc).

Able to reproduce the issue on reported chrome version #70.0.3538.102, latest stable #70.0.3538.110 and latest chrome #72.0.3622.0 using Windows 10. Observed that after opening "TEST.pdf " the Chinese font is missing. Note: Issue is not seen on Mac OS and Linux. The behavior is observed from old M-60 builds(#60.0.3112.113). This is a non-regression issue hence, marking it as untriaged and requesting someone from the dev team to look into the issue. Thanks.! |
