Swipe typing fails sometimes on Google Keep app

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Open google keep
(2) Create a new note
(3) Do swipe typing
(4) If it works, try closing the note and reopening. Just generally play around with pressing buttons and stuff.
(5) Try swipe typing again

What is the expected result?
It works

What happens instead?
Swipe doesn't type anything. Can see trail, but no text is inserted and the suggestions don't update.

Tap typing and tapping on suggestions still works though.

Also shows up in other Android apps on crOS.  Pretty sure it's a regression.
