That is an odd rendering error... Is GPU rasterization enabled in your browser, and do you still see the error(s) if you disable it?

If GPU rasterization is enabled then works correct, when I disable it, still see the errors.

Ok... that's interesting. Seems to indicate some sort of rasterization problem at least.

How frequent does it render incorrectly? (You indicated in the description that it only happened sometimes.)

Random... Sadly I can't say exactly. I made this page a few minutes ago...You can see in the screenshot rendering errors.

Tested this issue on Windows 10 on the reported version 70.0.3538.102 and the latest Canary 72.0.3617.0 and unable to reproduce the issue by following the below steps.

1. Launched Chrome and opened the given file in the original comment as HTML file.
2. Could observe that the formula is displaying correctly as mentioned in comment #5.
Attached are the screen shots for reference.

Request you to retry the issue on a new chrome profile without any flags/extensions and update the thread with the observations.

I couldn't repro on Windows 10. Not sure what's going on here.

With DevTools, what do the repaint rect visualizations show? Are we miscalculating the bounding box?

Looks like a sub-pixel issue to me, if I change that x (in the repaint flashing screenshot), it sometimes reproduces and sometimes not (depending on the value, but a value always shows the same result).

I disabled the Windows font smoothing completely, maybe that is why I reproduce consistently.
(If you do that, too, restart Chrome afterwards as the setting is not applied on the fly)

See Comment #14. We'd like you to open Devtools and turn on "paint flashing" to see where we draw, and also inspect the element to see what we thing the bounding box is. "paint flashing" is in the "Rendering" tab in DevTools.

We reproduced the issue with "paint flashing" switched on, setting the "x" value to 612 (original) and 611. It looks like it renders correctly at some values and the bug appears at other values. See the two attachments.

At this point I think the SKia team need to look at that path rendering in software. Our paint rects look fine and we're not crossing layer boundaries.

Removing the 'Needs-Bisect' label as this issue is not reproducible at TE end.
As per comment #27, requesting 'Internals>Skia' team to look into the issue and help in further triaging.
