Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_14_0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/72.0.3615.0 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. View the layers tab on a shadow DOM heavy page What is the expected behavior? Layers within a shadow root can be viewed What went wrong? A single layer is displayed (the app shell in most cases). Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 72.0.3615.0 Channel: canary OS Version: OS X 10.14.0 Flash Version: I imagine we'd want to display shadow roots in the existing #document tree on the left of the layers view somehow. Many websites using shadow DOM seem to have an app shell, so the only layer shown is that of the shell. It makes more sense to display layers from within its shadow DOM too, or allow switching context to such a shadow root.

Thanks for filing the issue! @Reporter: Could you please share a sample webpage/URL which satisfies the condition mentioned in C#0, that helps us to triage the issue further in a better way.

Struggling to reproduce the issue as im unsure what a working case should look like. If someone could jsbin an example which shows layers in the layers panel, that would be useful. Anyhow i dont seem to get this issue in beta, and right now canary seems to be having many rendering issues with parts of the page disappearing randomly. I guess something nasty got shipped in this branch.

As per comment#0, it seems to be that the reporter could not provide any sample file or URL that reproduces the issue. Hence adding TE-NeedsTriageHelp label and requesting someone from dev to look into the issue. Thanks.!

It appears to work fine in beta and, at the time, I was having some major rendering issues in 72 (with chunks of the page vanishing on mouse move/scroll). It is possible this contributed to me having trouble with layers, I suppose.
