CrOS FR: Policies to manage notifications in public sessions

Project Member Reported by cardonam@google.com, Nov 17

Issue description

Summary:The customer requests a policy for public sessions that can manage

"Chrome:\\settings\ --> Advanced --> Printer --> Google Cloud print “Show notification printers when new printers are detected on the network option . This is causing the issue now…We want this to be off."

Use case / Motivation:
The customer uses public sessions in a set of devices instead of user logins, while there are policies to manage notifications in user settings there are no policies to manage notifications for public session devices, the customer requests a policy is applied and manageable from the Admin Console.

Existing workarounds:
Manage notifications locally in the device.

Can you elaborate which kind of notifications the admin wants to block?

Who is using the devices - customers or employees?

If employees, how could we (technically) know / enforce, that the devices are NOT used by customers (who may have no legal relation to the admin and may therefore rely on Google to protect them)?
