goldeneye issue: build success/failure not correctly reflected in master-paladin

In this master-paladin dashboard the nyan_kitty-full-compile-paladin state is green:

However, legoland shows it as red, and it's red if you actually follow the link to the individual build:

This is a consequence of the cleanup stage failing on the child. We don't care about the cleanup stage for build results so this is rendered confusingly: infra knows the child failed but the rest of the logic doesn't care. The cleanup failure is a dup of issue 862136.
