If you plug this mouse in, both mouse and trackpad control break immediately. You can no longer select existing tabs in the Chrome browser (but you can open new ones) and you can only enter a URL into a tab once. This is true even of the trackpad if a mouse is plugged in. If you unplug the mouse, the trackpad immediately begins working properly again.
You can select as normal within the webpage proper. Only the tabs are affected.
This is new behavior as of the last week or so on my Google provided work chromebook.
