security_AltSyscall failed consecutively on elm on consecutive days

Project Member Reported by tcwang@chromium.org, Nov 14

Issue description

Hi,

I observed security_AltSyscall in bvt-cq failed on elm on 11/13 and 11/14. Last green test was on 11/09. The reason was "Allowed system calls failed". Here is the link to go/stainless:

I'm no longer a member of chromeos. assigning to mortonm@ so he can assign it against the service's owner.

This isn't my code, but not sure if there is anyone else better suited to take a look than me -- considering the people most familiar with alt-syscall are gone or on leave. I have an elm device sitting on my desk so I'll try to repro locally and do some debugging.

yunlian@: is this possibly related to https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromiumos/third_party/kernel/+/1296815?
CL 1296815 was for kernel 4.414. It probably needs to be ported to older kernels (elm uses 3.18 IIRC).

Yunlian has a few patches for 3.14 and 3.18. Let me submit them.
Status: Verified (was: Assigned)
Should be fixed after porting the patches to 3.18 and 3.14.

Stainless seems to be green now.
