.password-field isn't wide enough

Project Member Reported by brentons@google.com, Nov 14

Issue description

Chrome Version: 70.0.3538.77 (Official Build) (64-bit)
OS: MacOS 10.13.6

What steps will reproduce the problem? 125 31
(1) chrome:settings/password
(2) Click the πŸ‘to view a password as plain text.

What is the expected result?
The whole password is shown. Perhaps the design should change to show passwords in a popover or on a separate row to accommodate this.

What happens instead?
The field has a max-width of 125px, which isn't wide enough to show the autogenerated 31-character password I was trying to copy into my phone. πŸ™„

Max/Patrick: Thoughts? I can confirm that it is really difficult to see all characters of a long password as you cannot place your cursor in the text field for scrolling.

(Meanwhile marking as Available, because it clearly is an issue.)

Thanks for pointing this out. Agreed, it can be difficult to view and copy long passwords. I will look into this as part of upcoming work on the passwords settings page.
