The PIEX loader used by the File Manager to load thumbnails from RAW files is currently built and run under NaCl. NaCl is unmaintaned and there exists and alternative that's widely supported on the open web, WASM (and asm.js). We should migrate our usage of that library to WASM or asm.js. The library itself is open source, but the NaCl module is not currently.
