Remove grey background around 'Tab' bubble in the string

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Go to any page that is in your Search engine (e.g. dict.cc)
Once deselected the 'tab' bubble shows a grey background around the shape (screenshot: https://screenshot.googleplex.com/vsyrpi18KU1)

I cannot reproduce this on the exact same version of Chrome (also on Mac).

I typed something to display that message, pressed up and down, left and right, tab and shift-tab, and I couldn't get this to appear.

Can you give more precise instructions?  Also, do you have a theme installed?
