grpc_async_adapter: Well-defined behavior on client shutdown

Issue description

When the GrpcAsyncAdapter is shut down,
(*) all in-flight requests should error out
    (https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromiumos/platform2/+/1311893 indicates that this is not the case currently)
(*) subsequent RPC calls should CHECK.
