Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 11021.56.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/70.0.3538.76 Safari/537.36 Platform: 11021.56.0 (Official Build) stable-channel soraka-unibuild (soraka) Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Set the Ctrl and Search keys to be swapped in Settings>Keyboard 2. Try to use the Search key as Ctrl, or vice versa. What is the expected behavior? The Search key functions as Ctrl, and vice versa What went wrong? Both keys now operate as Search, as if the Search key wasn't remapped. Did this work before? Yes 69 Chrome version: 70.0.3538.76 Channel: stable OS Version: 11021.56.0 Flash Version:

Were you using an external keyboard? If so, you should have two "Search" remapping options, one for the internal keyboard, and one for the external keyboard titled "Meta". Make sure you use the option that matches your keyboard type. I believe this issue is already fixed. Please reopen if not.

Thanks for the tip. Remapping the external Meta key did it for me. I'm using a detachable Chromebook, so I guess it is treating the keyboard that it shipped with as an external keyboard, like a tablet. Prior to this update, remapping the internal keyboard Search button worked, and the key is labeled as Search on my laptop, hence the confusion.
