Issue descriptionChrome version: (copy from chrome://version) OS: Chrome Repro steps: 1. Open up an application under Crostini (I've reproduced in gnome-terminal, Atom, and Signal Desktop) 2. In the host's Chrome, copy an emoji (e.g. from https://emojipedia.org/ok-hand-sign/) 3. In the Crostini application, try to paste it Expected: You get a pretty emoji Actual: You get the sad "unicode box" :-(

I'll put this on my todo list. Although I'm suspecting that we don't have the proper fonts installed in Crostini to render the emojis...which hopefully shouldn't be that hard to resolve if we are already shipping those fonts in Chrome OS.

For what's it's worth, Signal in Crostini is able to render emoji, although it's definitely possible it's just substituting images there. |
