Screen reader does not indicate multiple file selection in drive

Version 72.0.3605.1 (Official Build) canary (32-bit)
Version 72.0.3602.2 (Official Build) dev (64-bit)
NVDA version 2018.3.2
JAWS version 2019.1810.64
Steps:
# Launch screen reader
# Launch any of above versions of chrome, and navigate to: http://drive.google.com
# sign in if necessary
# use tab to navigate to list of files
# press shift + down arrow
Expected: Screen reader announces highlighted file, followed by 'selected'
Actual: screen reader announces name of file only
Reproduces in Canary and dev
Reproduces with JAWS and NVDA

Tested with Firefox 64.0:
This issue still repros using NVDA 2018.4 and Jaws 2019.
