wolf firmware builder failing for years ...

Project Member Reported by tbroch@chromium.org, Nov 8

Issue description

https://cros-goldeneye.corp.google.com/chromeos/console/listFFBuild?branch=firmware-wolf-4389.24.B&chromeOsVersion=&startTimeFrom=&startTimeTo=&type=firmware&token=AFuIdJD2Vvl9dC9E_8AxJFeR9USr%3A1541709250099#/

Looks like last good build was summer of 2015,

https://cros-goldeneye.corp.google.com/chromeos/console/listFFBuild?branch=firmware-wolf-4389.24.B&chromeOsVersion=&startTimeFrom=&startTimeTo=2015-11-01&type=firmware&token=AFuIdJB41ScBCYmeXKGVYYNsnonZ%3A1541709360413#%2F

Which consequently seems to be the last release version I can find,

Starting Google_Wolf firmware updater v4 ()...
 - Updater package: [Google_Wolf.4389.24.62 / EC:wolf_v1.5.130-4424bbc]
 - Current system: [RO:Google_Wolf.4389.24.62 , ACT:Google_Wolf.4389.24.62 / EC:wolf_v1.5.130-4424bbc]
 - Write protection: Hardware: off, Software: Main=off EC=off
ERROR: Please assign updater mode by --mode option.
ERROR: Execution failed: ./updater4.sh (error code = 1)

No useful log info from geye though,

https://luci-milo.appspot.com/buildbot/chromeos.branch/wolf%20firmware%20firmware-wolf-4389.24.B/112

says, 'build chromeos.branch/wolf firmware firmware-wolf-4389.24.B/112 not found'

do you need it to actually work, or you just noticing it while going through logs ? wolf/slippy boards are slated to go EOL in prob <1 year, so needing new firmware builds seems pretty unlikely.

otherwise, Don has a reworked firmware builder framework that we should rerun under if it's not already.
Was looking to fetch FW from builder when I noticed it was red.

Whatever fix (or none at all) is fine w/ me just thought I should point out the failure.

wolf has been out of production for years. I don't see there is any reason for us to have a FW built before it EoL.

i'll let Don double check to see if it's using the new ToT firmware builder logic, and if so, if there's some scenario we need to handle that we're not yet.

but if people don't need a new build, we'll keep it at Pri-3 :).

It is on the new logic.

https://cros-goldeneye.corp.google.com/chromeos/legoland/builderSummary?builderGroups=firmware&limit=3&buildBranch=master

However we never did get the oldest few firmware branches working. It's because of https://crbug.com/893285

I'm duping against that bug. If we want to prioritize it, it's probably not THAT hard.
Wolf ended production of new units several years ago.
