I tried to add this USB connected printer, after it did not show in the print dialog.

The printer showed correctly in the AddNearbyPrinters window.

After clicking on it, the 'Select manufacturer and model' screen is shown, but this model does not exist to be selected.

This sounds like a USB bug that may since have been fixed. +valleau@ to comment.

We don't have any PPDs for the Canon MX line of printers.  The model seen in the nearby dialog is an identifier provided by the printer.  What kind of message would you like to see here?
