Linux Apps/Software not loading

Reported by jeff.ric...@gmail.com, Oct 30

Issue description

Chrome Version: 71.0.3578.21
Chrome OS Version: 71.0.3578.21
Chrome OS Platform: ACER 14
Network info: N/A

Please specify Cr-* of the system to which this bug/feature applies (add
the label below).

This issue applies to the current ChromeOS "Beta" release, 71.0.3578.21. When attempting to open any Linux app, (ie. GIMP, Software repository), the application never fully loads and becomes unusable.

Steps To Reproduce:
(1) Attempt to open any installed Linux application with the current ChromeOS Beta release.
(2)
(3)

Expected Result: Application would open.

Actual Result: Application not opening.

How frequently does this problem reproduce? Always

What is the impact to the user, and is there a workaround? There is no workaround that I know of, short of doing the "Powerwash" and starting over from scratch.

Unable to obtain screenshot as the indication of the application, not opening/loading is on the shelf.

Please file feedback (alt+shift+i) and include "#crostini" in the description. That will help us figure out what is causing this. Thanks!
Since opening this bug report, I received another Beta channel update for ChromeOS. I upgraded to ChromeOS 71.0.3578.27 and the Linux/#crostini issue I reported does not appear to be an issue any longer, as these apps/software pkgs now load normally. Should I close/delete this bug report?
