Improper animation(flickering) is displayed on tapping the search bar in “History”

App Version: 71.0.3578.23 Beta 
iOS Version:  10.3.3 only
Device: iPad only

Prerequisite:
Ensure that history tab is populated with few pages

Steps to reproduce:
  1. Launch Chrome.
  2. Tap on Menu > History
  3. Tap on search Tab
  
Observed results:
Smooth animation fails to get displayed on tapping the search bar in “History”

Expected results:
Smooth animation should be displayed on tapping the search bar in “History”

Number of times you were able to reproduce: 5/5
Bug reproducible after clean install: Yes
Bug reproducible after clearing cache and cookies: Yes
Bug reproducible on Chrome Mobile on Android: NA
Bug reproducible on Safari/Firefox: Firefox: NA, Safari: NA
Bug reproducible on current stable build (App Version, iOS Version): Yes on M70
Bug reproducible on the current beta channel build (App Version, iOS Version): Yes on M71

Type-bug-regression? No

I think this is related to the way the searchController is added to the TableView on iOS10. The flicker seems to be the "status" cell being hidden by the TableVC which is using UITableViewRowAnimationAutomatic. 

Since this is iOS10 only I guess the question is if its worth trying to fix this for M71 or not.
