The upgrade itself is straightforward. However, merging this package with FEATURES=test pulls in some other packages, some of which require an updated gnome2 eclass. This dramatically increases the number of packages that need to be upgraded and implicates several other eclasses. Consequently, I will wait until the updated gnome2 eclass has been submitted.

gnome2.eclass and gnome2-utils.eclass were updated in https://crrev.com/c/1345316.  Is this able to proceed now?

It might be. I remember there being a dependency on eapi7-ver.eclass, but I can't remember how direct it was. I'll take a look.
